Spiritual Listening

Welcome to this session of eight brief spiritual listening practices. You will be invited to reflect on each one after which there will be one minute of silence, ending with a gong. You may want to listen to all eight practices in one session, or you may want to divide them up into smaller sessions. Some of you may want to pause and journal after each question or series of questions.

I invite you to find a comfortable place to sit. You may want to light a candle or burn some incense. You may want to close or lower your eyes to diminish distractions. Welcome the stillness. Breathe.

Kay Lindahl, founder of The Listening Center, is a skilled presenter and workshop leader who teaches that listening is a sacred art and a spiritual practice. For nearly thirty years the daily practice of Centering Prayer has been transforming her life. She is the author of the award-winning book, The Sacred Art of Listening. In her work she demonstrates listening as a way of being profoundly present with each other and our own inner wisdom, a creative force that transforms relationships. Lindahl has presented her work in diverse settings—local, regional, national and international.
